Rollup Update 31.2: Important information for Microsoft Cloud customers
In order to ensure the operational safety of HR for Dynamics, all Microsoft Cloud customers need to install an update of HR for Dynamics soon. The reason is a change in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform.
There are no longer any process dialogs in the new Unified Interface, which is the user interface of Microsoft Dynamics 365. Furthermore there are changes regarding the access of users that use a Team Member license to access Dynamics 365.
Beginning in December, Microsoft will start changing the customer's old Webclients to the new Unified Interface. This will be done successively over several weekends e.g. in Europe on January 8, 2021 and in North America on January 15, 2021.
Why a new Unified Interface?
Microsoft's vision of a productive Workspace requires a modern interface which contains the functions and improvements of a consistent interface. The interface provides increased performance, higher efficiency and should contribute to a consistent user experience.
Which functions of HR Management for Microsoft Dynamics are affected?
Microsoft will remove the function "Process Dialogs" as a part of the conversion. These dialogs are used in several areas of the HR solution. Among these are adding the vacation entitlement, rolling out a new annual vacation, starting of an onboarding project from a template. Dialogs will no longer work as soon as a customer environment will be changed to the Unified Interface. The previously mentioned dates apply here, however not December 1, 2020 as sometimes communicated on the internet.
Additional App for Access with Team Member Licenses
To ensure the HR Self-Service access of users that are using a Team Member License for accessing the Dynamics 365 platform, a new Self-Service App is required after the change to Unified Interface. As this App is only required for customers that use Team Member licenses, the App is available as "Addon: Self-Service" solution within the customer portal and has to be installed additionally. Be aware that the App will only work for customers that procure their Microsoft Dynamics Licenses directly from Hubdrive as their Cloud Service Provider.
What do you have to consider?
In order to keep the updating as easy as possible for customers, Hubdrive decided to release an update of the latest Rollup 31. The name of this update will be Rollup Update 31.2 and it will contain all of the functions of Rollup 31 plus the new technology for dialogs. We highly recommend all of our customers and partners to install the Rollup 31.2 before Microsoft will perform the update in order to ensure that the dialogs are working.
